Clover

Implementation Summary

Ethyca uses the following endpoints in Clover to retrieve and delete Personally Identifiable Information (PII) when a user submits a data subject request. See below for a summary of what Ethyca does with each endpoint:

Endpoints Download My Data (SAR) Erase Me (Right to Forget)
Customer Yes Yes
Customer Email Addresses Yes No
Customer Addresses Yes No
Customer Phone Numbers Yes No
Customer Cards Yes No

Because Clover is a point of sales platform, it stores PII about your customers and the customers they are referring. Keep this in mind when you are creating your PII mapping as it will impact what is returned in your subject’s DSR package.

If this aligns with your use of Clover, please proceed to the next section to begin setting up your integration in the Control Panel.

For any questions, please reach out to your dedicated Privacy Success Manager.

Set Up

To create the API token to connect your instance of Clover to Ethyca, follow the steps below:

A. Merchant ID

1. Sign into your Clover Developer account. You can sign into your sandbox at sandbox.dev.clover.com/developer-home/login or your production account at clover.com/developer-home/login.

2. Select your Merchant account from the dashboard dropdown in the top left.

3. Select “Setup” in the left navigation

5. Select “Merchants” from the setup menu

6. Your Merchant ID appears underneath the name of your merchant account. Copy and past this into Ethyca.

B. API Token

1. In the left navigation, select “API tokens” (also under the setup menu).

2. Enter memorable name, like “Ethyca Privacy Management,” and press the “generate token” button.

3. In the permissions section, select “read” and “write” on the “customer” line. Press “Save” at the very bottom of the screen. The button can be difficult to see because it is sometimes covered by the footer.

4. Copy and paste your API Token into Ethyca.
