What is the CTDPA?
The Connecticut Data Privacy Act (opens in a new tab) is a comprehensive consumer privacy law that protects the data privacy rights of all Connecticut residents. CTDPA will go into effect on the same day as Colorado's CPA this summer on July 1, 2023,
If your business is subject to Connecticut's privacy law, you can take steps to comply by following this guide.
CTDPA applies to businesses or “controllers“ that operate within Connecticut or targets products and services to Connecticut residents and either:
- Control or process the personal data of 100,000 or more customers in a year, or
- Control or process personal data of at least 25,000 or more consumers in a year and generate more than 25% of gross revenue from the sale of personal data.
